The Migo Birthday Project: This is it!!!!

..............................

Peaceful elections, everyone!!

.... AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIGUEL INIGO!!!

First thing this morning,my eyes headed straight to the little man beside me. Peacefully sleeping with Mickey Mouse toy he tightly embraced. What a wonderful gift from above! As I silently watch him, I said a prayer of thanks to The One who gave him to me, for he-Migo-is the most wonderful treasure I ever received from heaven. He's been giving us a year full of laughter, hugs and kisses, color and precious moments. He's one year old today, and I am one year as a mommy. Mommy. This title I will never trade to something else.

Today is the BIG DAY. I do not know how this day will turn out. I do not know if all my hardwork in preparing for this celebration will pay off. I don't know, I really do not know. This is my first major event and I am hoping it will turn out well.

But right now, I have to get out of here and head to the venue for some suppliers are arriving already. Deep breath, deep breath... i am kinda nervous and excited at the same time. In a few, the venue will be colorful and one by one guests will find their seats.

I need a major good-luck-hug before the party starts.

The Migo Birthday Project: Last Day of Preps

..............................

Happy Mother's Day to all moms!

Sunday today, the day before the project. Even if a lot were done and prepared already days prior today, this day was the real "pressure"day. Final check up on everything was not easy. It was incredibly exhausting.

Honey took care of the "man jobs"- fixing the faucet of the guests' washroom, hanging the tarpaulins and putting the banderitas. I did the soft ones-decorated the kiddie tables, transferred the tokens to the venue, and finalized with the suppliers. In the afternoon, we went to the grocery to buy additional hotdogs, mallows, paper plates, cups, spoons and forks.

My brother Mackoy, who will be incharge of the DIY photobooth, came here to prepare and road test his work. The outcome was a nice one.

Before I go to bed today, I will fit my dress so to check what shoes go with it. And that would be my last activity for the day.

Bet my excitement for my little one's birthday tomorrow will make me wide awake the whole night. But please, don't! I want to look pretty and glam tomorrow, not haggard and tired.

The Migo Birthday Project: Week 4

..............................

Beautiful day to ya!

I so love the final week! This was my beauty rest week. I promised myself I will pamper myself on my last week of preps and luckily, I was able to do that. My hair was trimmed and colored, a first timer in Bench Fix ( I will be writing my experience soon). My nails were done by my friendly nail tech of Spa Wherever You Are. And the dress hunt was a disappointment for I was not able to find a decent green dress. Green dress because our plan is to follow Migo's outfits which are all green. I settled for gray instead. And so did Elmer.

Sunday tomorrow, the day before THE event. Final touch-ups, final preps. Good luck to me!!

The Migo Birthday Project: Week 3

..............................

Hi yáll!

Honey and I agreed to get a photographer but little did he know that I am considering a videographer as well. I was torn between Sophia Photgraphy and Thor Kids Productions. But since we are in a tight budget, photographer is what we can only afford. But my mind is telling me otherwise because it would be nice if Migo gets to watch what exactly happened during his first birthday. So in other words, I decided to get the video package as well without honey knowing it. Budget will be from my own pocket, my gift to our little one. I chose Thor.

This week was a busy one for this week marked my final week for preparations. Next week will be my beauty rest week. I need it. I definitely do.

Monday, I finished printing the invites and distributed them to our guests. I also finished printing the Mickey stuff (ears, gloves, jumper and shoes) to be cut out and sticked to the entrance gate leading to the venue.

Tuesday, I deposited downpayment to Thor and to CCME,our caterer.

Wednesday, we went to Divisoria to buy minor and major prizes for the games

Thursday, we had the tarpaulin printed. We have two tarps-one as stage backdrop and the other one as red carpet backdrop (we will be having a DIY red carpet / photo booth)

Friday, I prepared the colognes we will be giving away along with other tokens. I also bought knick knacks as added tokens, and the ones to be put inside the pinata.

Saturday, I packed all the tokens and put them all inside their paper bags. I also wrapped the major and minor prizes.

Sunday, I finalized the guest list.

In between, I did the AVP.

Whew! That put pressure on me, but still I am enjoying every second of it!

The Migo Birthday Project: Week 2

..............................

Moshi Moshi!

I have been busy with emails from four of the balloon artists, and so far I am impressed with Mr.Ballonatix. He's been bearing with my kakulitan, and he is prompt in answering my texts and messages in his Multiply site. Not to mention he has the lowest rate among the artists I emailed. Judging from the pictures posted in his Multiply, his works are great too. So this week, I deposited the downpayment for Mr.Balloonatix and also for Symond the host so they can block my date already.

Hubby and I went to Divisoria for tokens and giveaways. We headed to Divisoria Mall basement area where almost all party needs are being sold. My eyes feasted on the colorful merchandise and for a while I was mental blocked for I did not know where to start. Good thing I was able to regain my focus and I gathered the things I needed- party hats, name tags, pinata, birthday banner, mini puzzles, mini notepads, sticker booklets, pencils and bubbles. Then we headed next to 168 Mall and there bought face towel as an added token. Last thing we bought were nice paper bags to put all these tokens. All these are good for 30 kids, and all these are Mickey Mouse.

Trip to Divisoria is always tiring, yet so much fun. Can't wait for my next Divi tour. Promise, I will go back after Migo's birthday.
